Each Clasp Me Tightly centerpiece, pendant and charm is made by hand, one at a time with care and attention to detail from start to finish. Each piece of handmade heirloom quality silver jewelry begins its life as wire on a coil which is cut to length, fused, shaped then hardened with hammering. This step also gives it the fabulous texture. The result is a strong piece that is both timeless and long wearing.
Many designed are fused, however some utilize lead-free and cadmium-free silver solder. These soldered pieces are then cleaned thoroughly leaving no chemical residue.
Designs may be replicated, but no two pieces will ever be exactly the same. Each piece will have it’s quirks and beauty marks which add to the organic beauty of my work.
Each Clasp Me Tightly piece is handcrafted with love in Ballarat, Australia
The following is an example of the process of making a centrepiece from start to finish.

Coiling and cutting the wire
Ready to make the first fuse
Heating up the silver
Almost hot enough
Now fused and shaping has begun
Adding the ears
Ears are fused
Annealing wire for the next step
Adding the body
Body outline shaped
Adding legs and tail detail
After some shaping it’s in for a cleanup in the pickle
Attempting to add the eyes
Eyes successfully added, that was a tricky fuse!
More shaping done and now this part is ready to be hammered
Skipping ahead a little, the mini centrepiece has been fused and shaped
On to hammering!
One side done
Both sides hammered and flattened out
Onto the mini, each link needs to be hammered individually
Mini centrepiece done!
Adding my hallmark, a tiny star outline
